The irony of caring for deliberately distressed shoes is real, but there is a difference between factory-applied distressing and actual damage. The current GGDB rep batch has a distressing quality that looks intentional — maintaining that means protecting the areas that are meant to be clean (the midsole, the inside collar) while letting the worn areas develop naturally. A light application of leather conditioner on the upper leather (avoiding the suede overlays) keeps the leather supple. The suede overlays should be brushed occasionally with a suede brush.
